View from St. Nicolas_ Prague



So if you are walking in Prague, in Lesser Town (Malá Strana) and you want a powerful dose of adrenaline you can just climb up to the top of the tower of Saint Nicolas Church. 300 stairs, 80 meters high, cylindrical and narrow, the climb might give you a hard time somewhere in the middle, but the view of Malá Strana, of Old Town across the Vltava River, of the Charles Bridge, of Petřín Hill, some of the Prague Castle and straight ahead the TV tower which sticks out like an alien construction, deserves the uncomfortable minutes of climbing ;P.

A little bit of History …

The Saint Nicolas Church is one the most famous baroque architecture buildings in Prague, the whole construction was finished in 1752 and it lasted approximately hundred years, built by three generations of great Baroque architects – father, son and son-in-law –  (Kryštof Dientzenhofer, Kilián Ignác Dientzenhofer and Anselmo Lurago).
