Driving from Cz. Republic to Croatia around
Mid-June, me and some good people spent almost a week in Bohinj valley in
Slovenia, the place is a paradise, peaceful, green , pretty. It is located
between two lakes and surrounded by the Alps. People there seem to have simple
and healthy lives, taking care of their animals, their houses, their hay,,, A
very pleasant existence.
Half wooden
half concrete houses with bright flowers in the windows and balconies, and beautifully
tended courtyards make the scenic pictures.
The hay
farmer’s work is admirable, they worked all night when we were there to bail
it, because the next morning it was expected to rain.
There is a big lake on one side of the village, the
Bohinjsko lake is a unique scene, the water is transparent and so perfect, the
high full vegetated mountains around give a blue- green color to the water.
From the
tops of 4 mountains around the lake, (depending on the wind), a team of sky
divers take tourists for paragliding, if you are afraid of heights, it is still
very pleasant to watch the guys to land . . .
The most
important inflow into this lake is the Savica waterfall. Easily accessible by car and a lot
of stairs ;P
A day trip
to Bled to see the beautiful lake with the little island in the middle is something
that you can’t miss . Bled is a very pretty place to spend an afternoon or to
go out at night to have a drink, however it can be very crowed as it is very
touristic destination.
After
beautiful Slovenia the roadtrip continues to Croatia . . .
